Day 141 - Ex-snowglobe

The reasoning for the title is because this is no longer a snowglobe. It was, and then it broke in my pocket and I had to take away all the glass and water and sparkles. My friend bought this for me from the Biodome in Montreal. It's a little awkward now because there are glass bits around it.

Day 140 - Colourful Yarn

I don't knit, so I'm not sure why I have this. I think it might have been on sale at some point and I thought I could make use of it. I guess by taking a photo of it, it's kind of putting it to use.

Day 139 - Faithful Phone

I'm surprised I haven't taken a photo of my phone yet. It's usually with me, unless I lost it. My current wallpaper on my cell phone is actually a message to whoever finds my phone to e-mail me or call my friend to try and return it. It's such a useful wallpaper. It's helped multiple people return that phone to its rightful owner.

I feel like I'm one of the few that have not been converted to a smartphone user yet. I'm actually quite content with my phone. It does everything I need it to do. It's also very durable. A snowglobe exploded in my pocket once, and my phone was soaked for a few hours. It's still working. Sure, sometimes it cuts out in the middle of a conversation, sometimes it turns off for no reason, and sometimes it just doesn't work. I can't count how many times it's saved me though.

Day 138 - Vintage Candle Handle

My friend and I went to Value Village to see if we could find any treasures or something. I didn't really find anything but it was quite an adventure getting there. I feel like I'm always exhausted nowadays.

Day 137 - BBQ Lemongrass Chicken Vermicelli Bowl

Today's another food photo. I'm actually pretty physically and mentally exhausted today. I blame the fact that I attempted exercise for the first time in months today. I was almost too tired to post today. I might take another nap...

Day 136 - Royal Flush

The royal flush in spades is the best hand in poker. It's 1 in 2,598,960 possible 5-card hands. For some reason, this photo was composed better in my head. I'm not entirely sure why I have a royal flush ring but I do recall it bringing me "luck" once. I went to BINGO and won $50 while wearing it once.

I wish I didn't cut out the ten of spades. I wish The photo was more clear. I wish it turned out better. I wish, I wish, I wish.

Day 135 - Waiting in Winter

I was waiting at the bus stop today and took this photo. I haven't had a nature photo in a while. I miss flowers and bright colours.

Day 134 - Robots Have Hearts Too

I got my close-up filters today! I was really excited but I didn't really spend very much time playing with them. I figure I'll be using them a lot in the future. I bought this necklace at Forever 21 and I thought it was adorable.

Day 133 - Honey Garlic Wings

Tuesday is $0.39 wings at Crabby Joe's and my other two friends were craving wings for some reason. We actually didn't know this special was going on until we went in, but I'm glad we went. The texture of their wings was pretty much perfect. You have to buy a beverage in order to qualify for this "special" but I think it's worth it. I find myself taking photos of my food so often for my Project 365... It always seems like the easy way out.

I'm running out of things to take photos of in my house... I want to get my strobe to work again. I think it's out of batteries but I'm not so sure. Sooner or later I'll start playing around with it again.

Day 132 - Smog Cloud

Abstract photo again? Yes. I had a few potential shots today, but I sort of like this, even with the blurriness and the graininess. I don't know.

Day 131 - Wall of Stamps

I'm still in Toronto right now. I was downtown yesterday and it seems like so many other people have cameras. It made me less reluctant to pull out my camera to take photos of random things but I still didn't get many photos that I liked. This is actually a photo of some sort of wallpaper that was on my friend's dresser.

Day 130 - Wall and Ceiling

I'm in Toronto right now and this would be the ceiling and wall of my friend's room.

Day 129 - Owl Habitat Necklace

I feel like I'm cheating because it's 12:43am and it's "barely" the next day but I'm having a hectic day tomorrow so I don't want to miss a post. This is a necklace that I received as a Christmas gift. I thought it was really neat, and the background looks interesting too. The background here is just my bedsheets being blurred.

Day 128 - Starbucks Tumbler

I am at Starbucks yet again because I cannot find another place with Internet and I am afraid I cannot make it home before midnight because I want to watch Black Swan tonight. I think by the end of this project I will have so many Starbucks moments.

Day 127 - Jelly Belly

I love Jelly Belly candies. I think my favourite flavours are buttered popcorn, crushed pineapple, watermelon, and cream soda. I couldn't really get the background right. It was a shirt that needs to be ironed.

Day 126 - Dark Chocolate

I had a lot of trouble getting a photo today. For some reason it just didn't come to me. Another day, another day.

Day 125 - iDEVIL Touch

This is the iPod Touch case that was originally my sister's. She cracked her iPod Touch and dropped it in water, so she didn't much use of the case. She's getting a new one soon as a late Christmas present (she also got a Kinect for Xbox 360, quite the spoiled one). I'll have to return it back to her when she gets her new one I think.

Day 124 - Popping Poinsettias

It's nearing the end of the holidays, and so I'm trying to squeeze in as many Christmas-themed shots. I think there are tons more in my camera but I'll give it a little break. I finally got my 1TB hard drive so I don't have to be afraid of running out of space for all my photos.

Day 123 - Fake Roses in January

Happy New Year everyone! I found these fake roses in the garage. I've been missing real live outside flowers lately and so I tried to take a shot of these. I'm going back to Waterloo today. I'm going to miss Windsor. I don't know when I'll be coming back to visit.

Day 122 - Crispy Chicken and Rice

It's another food photo today. I went out for Vietnamese food with my cousins and my friend today and my friend ordered this very well put together dish. I'm always very impressed by how restaurants make these dishes look so appetizing. It's been a good year I think. Let's hope next year is even better.

Day 121 - Vintage Necklace

My friend bought this in a vintage store and was very proud of it. I think it has a specific name or something but I forget. It feels like this week's gone by so fast. It's almost time to get back to work again.

Day 120 - Basket of Goodies

Admittedly this is a lazy photo. It's just one of those gift baskets that we got and I just put it on the carpet and took a super quick shot of it. I'm trying to convince myself that those unflattering shadows are artistic or something. Lighting is simply mysterious.

Day 119 - Still got Christmas Spirit

Today I was at a store called Remark's and it was such a quaint little store. I wasn't quite sure what these things were. I think they're for bouquets but I'm not sure why they were $7.99 each.

Day 118 - Windmill

I went to see the doctor's today and so I think I'll be feeling better. I was a little lazy today so this photo is just a windmill model against the window. Our window was very dirty so there were a lot of gross specs that I had to get rid of. The sky had such a beautiful colour today.

Day 117 - Piano

I'm not feeling too well today. Yesterday I was feeling absolutely dandy but today it feels like everything's not right. It's a combination of feverish, sore throat, headache and just overall pain. I remember last year I was also sick during the holidays. Oh well, as long as I feel better eventually.

This is a picture of our piano. I used to play but I quit, and then my sister played but she also quit. It's just sitting there acting as a decoration now, and every once in a while we'll play one-handed song or something.

Day 116 - Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas! I hope you all enjoyed it. I ran around the house looking for something festive and I ended up with this. I might have over-edited but it was looking a little strange beforehand. Eat heartily!

Day 115 - Homemade Christmas Tree Ornament

This is an ornament that I "made" a few years ago. I guess I didn't really make it, I just painted it. I remember being very proud of it though. I thought I was very crafty.

Day 114 - Joy to the World

I went to Bowring today and there were lots of holiday decorations. I'm actually not sure if you're allowed to take photos in stores. I think it depends on a lot of things but I always feel like some fugitive or something with a camera in store.

Day 113 - Belgium Chocolate Cups

I'm at my cousins today. My aunt had a box of Belgium chocolates and they were absolutely delicious. I may have eaten too many though.

Day 112 - Who Lives in a Pineapple Under the Sea?

I'm back in Windsor and it feels nice to do absolutely nothing. This is a photo of my sister's aquarium that's fairly new. The crooked pineapple is really bothering me but I'm too lazy to change it.

Day 111 - Crows Crow

I'm done. I feel like I have overworked my brain for the past few weeks but now I get to take a super long mental break. While I was studying today, these crows outside my house were going crazy and were just cawing for such a long time. It was a little scary and ominous for some reason.

Day 110 - Hanging Binder Clips

I only have one more exam left. I'm so excited to finally go home and see my family. I'll be able to spend more time on photography and reading. This is all quite motivating.

Today's photo is just a bunch of binder clips that I thought were interestingly coloured and patterned. I didn't really know how to take a photo of them so I ended up hanging them with yarn. I got to play a little bit with my flash today.

Day 109 - Who doesn't love bubble wrap?

Part of the reason I love buying things online is that they usually come with bubble wrap. It's a big bonus for me and it just provides so much fun. The sound, the texture and just the whole process of popping bubble wrap is so exciting.

Day 108 - The End of the World

I'm not so sure why I decided to go with a title that was so dramatic. I spent a very long time deciding whether I wanted this to be in a landscape or portrait orientation. This is actually a photo of a ceiling light we have in our house. I originally thought it was a very ugly light fixture but then I noticed the smoke-like patterns on it. I guess I just have to look at things closer.

Day 107 - Light Swirls

Well this was fun to do. I'm actually really happy with this. I remember seeing a lot of abstract wallpapers similar to this and having no idea how they were all done but somehow I kind of accidentally made one.

Day 106 - Canon Speedlite 430EX II

I was so excited when I saw a package with my address on my desk. I can finally experiment with lighting! I have absolutely no idea how to use it and I just quickly glanced at the instruction manual but I shall be playing around with it soon enough! I'm feeling a little blind right now because I kept flashing the light at myself. That was a bad idea, but at least I know that now.

My desk is still very messy from "studying" but that will change soon enough. This picture is kind of lazy but I liked the interesting bokeh and the slight rainbow colour on the right of the flash.

Day 105 - Icey Abstract

I was actually planning on taking a photo indoors today but I couldn't resist taking a picture of icicles when I saw them on our roof. I couldn't get a nice angle of the photo without distracting background, so I ended editing it... a lot. I played around with it for a long time but in the end I liked this random abstract thing.

Day 104 - Frosted Branch

I'm still enjoying winter. Everything just looks so pretty covered in a white blanket of snow. I'm sure in a month or two I'll be sick of it though.

Day 103 - Winter Water

I woke up early today and looked out the window and it was snowing so much. For some reason, I decided to take a short mini photo walk. I wish there was better focus in this photo but it always looks so much better on the little LCD screen.

Day 102 - Pill Capsule Notes

I'm back to the harsh shadows now, but at least I noticed it. It's so hard to find lighting now that it gets so dark so quickly.

These are strange little pill capsules with mini blank notes inside them. I'm not so sure why I have them but this is the first time I've "used" them. The other day I was looking around random photo streams and was amazed with some of the crazy photo manipulations out there. After all these exams are over, I'd like to play around with Photoshop some more again.

Day 101 - Camera Necklace

I have turned taking a photo and uploading it into my daily study break. I searched my room for a very long time to find a subject to take a photo of. I think by the end of this, I will have taken a photo of pretty much everything in my room.

I'm happy with how the lighting with this. I avoided the super harsh shadows! I'm starting to notice the lighting and shadows in all my photos now... I used to just snap and not pay attention at all. This is good.

Day 100 - Paw Prints

It's already Day 100? That went fast. It just seems so natural to take a photo every day now. I do feel that the quality goes up and down due to life sometimes. I was looking through other's Project 365s and I find it amazing when people can produce high quality creative photos EVERY SINGLE DAY. I'm already trying to decide what I want to do after I finish my 365... I suppose I still have 265 days left to decide.

I looked out our backyard window today and noticed that there were paw prints in the snow. It was probably the kitty that visits. We weren't there to feed him/her and so he/she probably just gave up. I'm so concerned about the kitty though. I hope he/she will be able to fight the winter.

Day 99 - Fake Flowers

I went to my friend's house again to study and her house is so clean. It feels like one of those houses in movies, where everything is placed to serve a purpose. There were these fake flowers on the dining table and I thought they made a good photo subject.

Day 98 - Exam Dinner

Today was just another boring study day. I already feel like I'm burned out but I still have two weeks left. This was my dinner for today, with a bunch of books and textbooks around it but you don't quite see it in this photo.

Day 97 - BA II-Plus

I had to take a photo from my desk today because I just ate a giant bowl of instant noodles and I swear I can't move. This is the calculator and books from my actuarial science "mathematical interest theory" course and it will be my frienemy for the next week. I think in the next few weeks, I'll have a few more of these lazy exam day photos...

Day 96 - Here Kitty Kitty

The cat came back! This time we fed it milk and fish balls. Today the kitty seemed more frightened than normal. I hope it's okay for the winter.

Day 95 - Winter Hat

It was so cold today it was burning. This is the hat that I have been sporting recently. I got it last weekend and it certainly keeps my ears on me. I've been taking a lot of dark photos lately. I wanted something light. It was a really lazy photo too. I'll get back into photography mode when there's less exams to worry about.

Day 94 - Christmas Lights at Victoria Park

Today was the second last day of class. I'm one day closer to exams... This is a park in Kitchener called Victoria Park and it's very well decorated. It's honestly starting to look a lot like Christmas. It's so exciting.

Day 93 - Snowflake

I took this while waiting at the bus stop today. It was almost a perfect snowflake. The snowflake landed on my jacket and it's quite obvious that I need a lint roller for my jacket... or maybe just a new jacket.

Day 92 - Snowfall

I brought my kit lens out today. Usually I'm just with my nifty fifty but I still ended up getting as close as I could get. I think I was going for a grainy film look. It gets so dark so quickly nowadays... I might have to continue relying on high ISO for a while until I figure something out.
