Day 61 - Halloween Socks

Happy Halloween! It didn't really feel like Halloween. I was kind of hoping that someone in a scary costume would magically appear or something but that didn't happen and so I had to improvise.
Day 60 - Joe Lights

My friend had those light sparklers and I have wanted to do light writing for a while. This was taken technically last night but that was still past midnight.
Day 59 - Toothpick Man

I am in my friend's house in Toronto and she has this really interesting toothpick holder. You just have to take the blue thing and lift it up and then down and the toothpick magically appears! It's quite amusing.

I forgot my friend bought this cactus a while ago but it's kind of falling out of its pot and it's kind of neglected by its owner. I have decided that my next photography investment will be a camera flash. I think I'll enjoy experimenting with lighting.
Day 57 - Engineering 5 Rainbow

Today there was a meeting with the UW Photo Club and there was a photo contest. The theme was the new Engineering 5 building. I spent a good hour trying to find a photo but it turned out the first photo was the photo I liked the most.
Day 56 - Tuesday Grocery Shopping

On Tuesdays, there is a 10% discount at the grocery store and so we stock up on food. They had some good deals today, especially on Tropicana juice. The original price was around $6.47 for a jug and it was on sale for only $3.00. Between three of us, we bought 9 jugs.
Day 55 - Pink Camouflage

I haven't been spending as much time as I'd like with photography lately. I spend on average maybe 15 minutes a day for my Project 365, and that includes uploading and posting too. I look forward to when I can actually spend a good amount of time on my posts.
This is my friend's stuffed dog that she got from the store PINK that was free with another purchase or some sort of promotion like that. The background is her bedsheets and I thought it kind of camouflaged well, but I realized I kind of messed up the focus.

My friend got these magnets as a prize once when we went to a Waterloo Warrior Weekend. They've been on our fridge for a while and I wonder why it took so long for me to realize that they were quite photogenic.

I found this in my friend's room. It was from first year residence. I seem to do a lot of minimalistic photos.

I was concerned I wouldn't be able to take a photo and upload today. I wasn't home but with an iPod Touch and wifi I tried to make it work.
Day 51 - Birdbath Stand

11:29 PM
I have already taken a picture of my jewelery stand at some point on Day 4 but this is a different perspective of it. It actually looks like a little birdbath and there are five birds around that are used to hold necklaces. I was very amused when I first saw this and I'm glad I bought it.
Day 50 - Black Cat

7:48 PM
Today we were in the kitchen and in the corner of our eye we saw something move. It was this curious kitty. The kitty looked so scared but it was very curious at the same time. While I was taking the photo, the kitty didn't move at all and was a great little model. We gave her some tuna and she enjoyed it very much.

Today was hectic again. It seems like everyday is hectic now. I almost forgot to take a photo and upload again and so I must admit that the quality, and effort of today's post isn't up to par. This is a photo of something in my washroom that seems to serve no particular purpose. I think it used to be some sort of hook but it may have broken.
Day 48 - Turtle Bobbleheads from Mexico

9:01 PM
Today's shot was sort of done in a rush I must admit. These are little bobblehead turtles belong to my friend who went to Mexico during the summer. They're very adorable. The lighting is a little messy in this photo and I didn't really do the cute little turtles any justice but due to my exam tomorrow I'm trying to allocate as much time studying as possible.
Day 47 - Waiting for the Bus

10:04 PM
I was at school studying today and I almost forgot to take and post a photo. This is a shot of the people waiting at the bus. I find night photography so much more difficult than day photography. It feels so limiting when there is so little light. There is a lot of unwanted grain in this photo. I'm tempted to blame my camera sometimes, but I will try to improve myself before I try and "fix" things by being impulsive and buying another camera.
Day 46 - Automobile Adornment

I went to the Oktoberfest Classic Car Show with Maran today. They had some pretty impressive cars there. The owners all took care of their cars so well.
Day 45 - St. Donat Memory

6:10 PM
When I went to St. Donat, Quebec during high school. We went with our French class and we did a lot of cultural activities such as sawing wood. After, we took the wood and just had all "animateurs" sign them. The animateurs were kind of like the leaders or hosts of the whole program. I was just reminiscing.
Day 44 - Apple Cards

This photo is a little blurry.... but I wasn't working with much light and I already thought it was going to be too grainy. My friend bought me these cards from Hong Kong. They have 3-in-1 games in there. It's a regular deck of playing cards, Mahjong cards and also cards that have rock-paper-scissors on them. We've used them several times to play Mahjong. It's quite portable.
Day 43 - Hello Penguin

There's a midterm tomorrow. There always seems to be a midterm tomorrow... I didn't really feel like leaving my room and so this little penguin is all I got. This is actually a wind chime and there's more under the penguin but it didn't quite look right so I edited it out. I guess the penguin looks a little strange right now too but I guess I'll just make up for today's laziness another day.
Day 42 - Homemade Dinner

I am back in Waterloo again. I enjoyed my time back at home in Windsor but it's back to school again. This was the last homemade food I had. I was never able to appreciate my father's cooking until I had to cook for my own. I wish I could cook like my father now.
Day 41 - Egg Tarts

5:52 PM
Happy Thanksgiving! My aunt made egg tarts today. I think I ate too many. I'm supposed to be studying for my midterm but I found myself playing Mahjong again. This weekend has been a nice break but I recognize that I will have to get right back on track.
Day 40 - Mincy 10-10-10

10:37 PM
It's day 10-10-10! I was hoping that I could post something very "epic" today and I had been thinking of ideas since last week. I looked for clocks, money, remotes, the word "ten" in different languages, groups of ten things, but ultimately I decided they didn't really work. So here is Mincy. Mincy is our neighbour's guinea pig and they are on vacation so they asked our family to take care of her for the time being. She's very adorable but camera-shy and easily frightened.
The catch-lights in her eyes are edited. I was wondering if that was very obvious or not? Without the added catch-light, Mincy looked a little bit like a zombie.

Day 39 - Thirteen Grades of Imperial Treasure

I have come home to Windsor and our family played "Mahjong", a game that originated in China. It's a very fun game and I've played it since I was little. It involves some strategy, skill and a little luck. The hand that I took a photo of is called "The Thirteen Wonders", "Thirteen Grades of Imperial Treasure" and a few other names. It's a very very rare hand and it is considered the highest scoring hand in the game. I have only gotten this hand to "win" once, but it was a few years ago.
This is kind of our version of "family board game night". It can go for hours and we used to play about once a week. We're all very busy now though so it's more of a special occasion game now.

Day 38 - DIY Shelf

I'm currently in my friend's house in Toronto. This is a photo of a shelf that she built in high school. I thought it looked pretty awesome. I must admit that I'm pretty jealous. My shelves look very ordinary. We're about to go for lunch and then to downtown Toronto. I'll be in Windsor tonight to go home for Thanksgiving.
Day 37 - Stranger Walking

10:11 PM
I'm a little short on time right now. I was just at the mall and I had no camera device other than my iPod Touch. I shot a photo of this stranger walking and it turned out to look a bit like water colour paint and I thought it was neat.
Day 36 - Place Charles de Gaulle

8:53 PM
I've had this hanging on my wall for quite some time now. I guess I just never took a photo of it because it felt strange to take a photo of a photo. I bought it in a store once for about $8, and it sort of serves as a reminder that I want to go to France at some point in my life, and it helps my wall look less bland. It's actually hung straight on my wall, but I just decided to take a crooked photo of it.
Day 35 - Sunnyside Pizza
Posted by

at
8:14 PM
We bought 4 Hot-and-Ready pizzas yesterday and 2 crazy breads from Little Caesars. It's only $5.55 for a pizza and so we got a lot of leftovers. Today, my friend decided to eat her pizza with an egg on top of it and I thought it looked really interesting.
Day 34 - Under my Umbrella

I wrote my first midterm for this semester today. I have at least one midterm each week from now on until the end of November. These three months are going to move fast. I know it.
This is my friend's umbrella. I found it in the foyer of our house and thought it was interesting enough to take a photo of.

I'm posting early today because the rest of today will be dedicated to studying. I have been taking a lot of pictures of leaves lately but the leaves on this tree was so bright it just popped out in comparison to all the trees that haven't turned colours yet.
Day 32 - Five for Five Strawberries
Posted by

7:14 PM
We went to the St. Jacob's market and village today. They had such good deals! The sign said that it was 5 cases of strawberries for $5 but it was actually 8 cases for $5. We're currently roasting turkey in the oven and it's quite exciting. It's kind of like a Thanksgiving dinner between friends and next week we'll have Thanksgiving dinner with our families. I like living with people I know. It's like we have a little community going on.
Day 31 - Living Room Lights

It's a quick post today. This is the ceiling light on top of my living room. It's not that exciting, but that's all I have for today.
